For an overseas student to study in the UK, it is necessary to obtain a student visa from the British High Commission. To apply for this visa, students will need: CAS statement letter to show they have been accepted on a course and have either paid a deposit or full fees. It is better for the student to pay the whole fees or a large portion in advance, if possible, as this will provide evidence that the student is committed and able to study the course. Evidence of a Financial Status, sufficient to enable the student to pay both the tuition fees and living expenses for the period of stay in the UK will be required to view. The UK Government is concerned that students will be unable to support themselves and might have to rely on public funds or work illegally. The evidence required will depend on whether the student is sponsored by the Government or a firm or whether they are self or parent sponsored; i.e., bank statements, letters, etc.
To attend an interview at the British High Commission (if applicable) where the Government wants to establish whether the application is by a serious student who wants only to study whilst in the UK and then return home. The student will have to obviously, therefore, know all about the course and how it will benefit his/her career.
Students must submit all documentations and information to their local embassy or Home office in case of inside country visa applications, mentioned on their CAS statement letters which are used to assess their eligibility for the course.
Overseas Students have to fulfil their maintenance requirements for Tier 4 Student visa which can be browsed through UKBA website.
For full UK Tier 4 Visa Application Requirements browse UKBA website or the website of your local British Embassy and follow Tier 4 Policy Guidance to complete your visa applications.
